In just a few seconds, it could take a while to recharge the vehicle batteries of electric cars. This conclusion is at least the current state of research on a memory that can handle both electricity and hydrogen. A Scottish research team has now introduced the liquid battery.

Today’s Bhopal, India’s worst chemical accident happened 30 years ago, when a huge tank of corrosive methyl isocyanate went out of control, leaving 27 tons of the substance as a poison cloud over the city. To date, more than 200,000 people have fallen ill and up to 30,000 have died as a result of the accident.

On December 3, 1984, the poison gas tragedy occurred in a Union Carbide Corporation plant: a week later, thousands of people were suffering from lung burns in overcrowded hospitals.

The chemist Isaac Yonemoto fights on two fronts: he wants to develop a cancer drug while reducing the astronomical costs of cancer treatment. He is now collecting money for a drug whose formula will be freely available through crowdfunding.

Chemist Isaac Yonemoto is working on a cancer drug. He now collects money for this through crowdfunding. The recipe will not be patented but will be freely available. As a result, the funds would be significantly cheaper than other products.

It almost sounds too good to be true: ordinary sand is the raw material for an effective and environmentally friendly detergent developed at the University of Kassel , Before everyone goes to the hardware store today, a lot of complicated steps are necessary for the production.

Washing action in a technical department store in Hamburg: researchers from Kassel have developed a detergent that is based on ordinary sand. It does not pollute the waters and decomposes back into its constituents in nature.

A biological plasticizer for plastics that could replace harmful phthalate-based plasticizers is being presented by Fraunhofer researchers at the International Green Week from 17 to 26 January in Berlin. The new active ingredient is based on succinic acid and combines very well with plastics such as PVC.
